Safe Constipation Home Remedy Anyone Can Use

Constipation happens for several reasons. It could be due to a lack of exercise, stress, and poor diet. When you are constipated, you would feel bloated and weak. Constipation is not an illness but rather, a bodily condition that delays bowel movements, which in turn would cause discomfort and at the same time, might be a cause for illnesses. To treat this problem, simple home remedies can be used, especially if it is a mild case of constipation that does not require medical attention.
The first thing to do is to check your diet. Are you incorporating enough grain products in your meals? Eating 6 ounces of grain products such as cereals, starchy veggies (potatoes, corn, and lima beans), and breads everyday is recommended. Grains are high in fiber and could stimulate peristalsis or bowel movement.

In addition, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables also help relieve constipation. As mentioned, starchy veggies are great choices. Fruits, on the other hand, include apples, bananas, raisins, grapes, peaches, oranges, prunes, and pears. You can opt to juice them if you have a juicer at home, or you can simply make them into a shake using a blender so that you get sufficient dose everyday, conveniently. Ideally, apples should be eaten an hour after regular meals; bananas should be eaten in between meals; and raisins can be eaten an hour after meals- the more the better.

Increasing Water Intake
Water therapy is considered one of the best home remedies for constipation. Ensure that you drink 8 glasses of water everyday, and if possible, drink 5 glasses of hot water because this has been known to be beneficial in constipation relief. Not to mention, water can also help flush out toxins from the body.

Increasing Fiber Intake
The best constipation home remedy would have to be increasing fiber intake. Fiber adds mass to stools and can stimulate the colon to expel its contents faster. The good news is that you can easily find fiber in fruits and vegetables, and as mentioned, in grain products. What you can do is to make a preparation of fiber-rich fruits and make into a salad to eat as snacks. The recommended daily fiber requirement is about 30g, but if you are suffering from constipation, you may need to double this just so you could get all those stuff out of your body. Once you are relieved of constipation, you can simply go back to the regular daily requirement for maintenance.
